Welcome on the website of Alan Arif, the violinist. I was born in 1967 in the city of Sulaymaniyah, Iraqi Kurdistan. In 1988 I finished my studies of music, at the University of Baghdad, and received my „Bachelor of Arts“. Until 1996 I worked as a music teacher at Sulaymaniyah. Since 1996 I live at Düren, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. I perform as a violinist in Germany, Iraqi Kurdistan and elsewhere, and moreover I work as an in-home violin tutor.

Want to learn more? Have a look at my videos an, or visit one of my upcoming concerts. People interested in violin tutoring at or around the city of Düren can contact me too.

I am looking for an opportunity to play in an orchestra.

At Düren, I am particularly active in the chamber orchestra of the Cappella Villa Duria. Besides, I am a member of the Dürener Orchestergemeinschaft e.V. (Düren orchestral community), and I collaborate with the organisation Kultur ohne Grenzen e.V. (Culture without Borders) based at Jülich (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany).

If interested please contact me.
